Sarah Maaske (she/her/hers or they/them/theirs) is the Program Coordinator of the Institute for LGBT Studies who works with university and community members to coordinate programming and events that provide platforms for all LGBTQ+ identified persons, with an emphasis on the intersectional experiences of individuals within the LGBTQ+ community.
Additionally, Sarah has been offering LGBTQ+ yoga classes that promote safe-space and utilize a trauma-informed approach since 2017 in Tucson, Arizona. Sarah prioritizes offering classes by donation to help break down the socio-economic barriers that often prevent people with the highest needs from accessing beneficial wellness services and activities.
Sarah holds a Master of Social Work from Arizona State University, as well as a Bachelor’s in International Affairs from Northern Arizona University.
