Tom Buchanan

Tom Buchanan’s worst grades in school were always in art. He didn’t even try to match the “right” colors and shapes as shown by Sister John Michael. After a few classes in which he tried to draw the perfect apple on a plate, he decided it was just more fun to sling paint, and has been doing so ever since. Most of Tom’s work is large-scale acrylic, though sometimes he works smaller. His paintings come from dreams, random thoughts, and the colors and shapes he sees when he closes his eyes. He is inspired by the work of Helen Frankenthaler, Franz Kline, Robert Motherwell, Esteban Vicente, Emilia Arana, and his great friend, the late Fritz Bultman.
