"Oil painting has always served as a way for me to slow down and appreciate the little details I might otherwise miss. When combined with my interest in plants and conservation, this typically manifests itself as larger-than-life studies of the architecture of plants I see in the world. Through the use of rhythmic, structured forms and a variety of stylistic approaches, I examine the patterns found in nature while inciting the viewer to look more closely at the world around them and to be conscious of the different lenses they view it through as they transition through various periods of their life."
